Our Story & Brand

I’m Bindu. I am half Swiss, half Indian, and I was raised in Canada and the US. Because of my Indian roots, I grew up surrounded by the colors and patterns of Indian fabrics. I always dreamed of starting a business with Indian textiles, but life kept me busy with my career and raising a family.

In 2019, my family and I moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where the vibrant batik fabrics and rich Indian influences reignited my passion for textiles. It was there that I met Stéphanie who was also Swiss and had spent much of her adult life living across Asia while working in fashion design. Over coffee in Kuala Lumpur, we talked about starting a business together, combining my entrepreneurial spirit and love of textiles with her design expertise.

By 2024, after another international move had taken me to Vienna, Austria, I realized it was the perfect time to finally launch a business. I shared my idea with Stéphanie, and she immediately offered to sketch a few designs.

Et voilà—Bindia K. was born!

About Bindia K.

Bindia K. blends ancestral artisanship with contemporary, casual elegance. Inspired by traditional Indian prints and reimagined with simple color palettes and a slightly modern flair, we create designs that are easily integrated into Swiss and European homes.

Each piece is hand-printed by artisans in Jaipur using the time-honored technique of block printing. Exclusive patterns are pressed, block by block, onto naturally textured cotton to create authentic pieces with a casually elegant vibe.

Finally, each item is wrapped in a ribbon, making perfect gifts that are pretty, practical, and unique.
